Tuesday's OOTW - Palm Springs

Well I am wearing a palm print dress and it’s spring. Yeah I know. I have to get some sleep. 

Anyhow, I was madly in love with this print when I saw it on a t-shirt dress at Old Navy. Then I was sad because the t-shirt dress was WAY too short on me. When I saw the same print on this dress online, I knew I had to add it to my closet but it was sold out. Then they got more in stock and I ended up snagging it for 50% off. I guess some things are just meant to be. I could have worn my green purse with it, but at the last minute I decided to go with the light blue because the leaves have a light blue shade in them as well. And I’m loving the big, tassel earring trend right now so I’m glad I bought this pair in my favourite green colour. Are you loving the palm leaf print trend as well? Tuesday's OOTW - Flower Power

I just got back from Saskatoon on Sunday night and I’m still catching up on sleep. For my Mom being a senior, she is way busier than me! Her and James (my toddler) got along great. To save the environment we need to find a way of using them as a power source. 

I definitely have jumped on the embroidery trend in a big way so when I saw this dress, I had to have it. I thought it is a wee bit short for someone of my uhm *cough* age. Then I thought I’m going to rock it anyway. The great news is that I can also wear it into fall with some leggings or over the knee boots. But for now I brazenly am rocking bare legs and my wine booties with this embroidered beauty. One great thing about being over forty is that I care less and less with each passing year what others think. So would you say “yes” to this dress? Let me know in the comments below.

Tuesday's OOTW - All The Teals.

I love all shades of green but I had forgotten that I owned this skirt. When I found it while cleaning out my closet, I was super happy to find a cardigan (also in my closet) that matched it. I mean the odds were that I would find a cardigan that would match it as I am The Cardi Queen – yeah I have that many cardigans. They take up an entire rack in my closet! And I decided to make an effort and do my hair in a top knot. I was also doing some serious multitasking as I was watching for cars so they didn’t hit my husband/photographer who had to stand on the road to take photos of me. How do you feel about teal? Tuesday's OOTW - Let's Taco Bout Stripes.

The following was my Cinco De Mayo outfit. You can see why I choose it as it is super colourful and it makes me want to party and eat lots of tacos. Stripes are a big trend this spring and summer, even rainbow ones, so I was super excited to find this skirt on Ebay for under $20. And it has pockets which is great for when you need to do a photo shoot and your nails look really bad. Unfortunately it is no longer on eBay but I found a similar one to buy if you’re interested. And I love my earrings. I got these turquoise ones from H&M for $1, but since then I have bought them in green and white. They are surprisingly light weight. I have the link where you can get your own in lots of different colours.

Tuesday's OOTW - Shoe Betcha!

An outfit built around my shoes? YES!!! I madly loved these shoes when I first saw them on fashion blogs, but I didn’t love the price! Then I went on eBay and found them for $40 CDN and I was super happy. They are actually surprisingly comfortable. I just might have to get a green pair too. I bought my romper from Old Navy last year, so I tried to find something similar for you to buy. It is so pretty and is feeding the crush I have on all things pink these days. The only problem I have with rompers is that it is such a pain to go to the washroom. I have such broad shoulders and a big bust that I struggle getting them on and off. But yay for one piece dressing because it’s so easy to find something to wear. Do you like rompers and jumpsuits? Let me know in the comments below.

Tuesday's OOTW - Pretty In Pink!

I never thought I’d ever be using that title on one of my posts. You see, up until a couple of months ago I hated pink. Then blush pink was everywhere and I fell in love. This lovely coat was the first thing I bought, and since then I have bought shoes, more shoes, a t-shirt, pants, and well you can just say I’m outta control! 

These embroidered jeans are one of my favourite wardrobe pieces. I saw them online at Nordstrom’s for $175. When I saw the exact same ones on eBay for $40, I snapped them up. Embroidery is so hot right now that I’m sure you need a pair too. Photos simply don’t do them justice. So what have you added to your wardrobe lately? Let me know in the comments below!

Tuesdays OOTW - 20's Flapper Hooker

Thanks so much for all your well-wishes and prayers. My husband Tim is home from surgery after having a stent put in one of his heart arteries. We are so blessed to have caught this before any damage or a major heart attack occurred. 

Are you confused as to my post title? That is what Tim proclaimed when I asked him what he thought of my dress. My fashionable friends on Instagram disagree with his fashion assessment. I do as well as ruffles and yellow are both in style for spring and summer. I thought that adding some hot pink accessories would be an interesting contrast. And I’m using a make up bag as a clutch. What trend are you most excited for this spring and summer?

Tuesday's OOTW - Minty Fresh

I love Chinese food at our favourite restaurant Good Buddy’s. I also love letting someone watch James so Tim and I can go to said Chinese food restaurant by ourselves. Being that I was dressed up for our date night it seemed like a great time to take some photos. So I did. I am still loving my Kendra Not earrings (they look like Kendra Scott earrings but they are not) and try to wear them every chance I get. I also love my stretchy dark denim jeans I scored at Old Navy for $15. They are great to wear when you want to eat tons of Chinese food. Black pepper beef here I come!

Tuesday's OOTW - Just Peachy

I am always on the look out for a fabulous wall to shoot my OOTW in front of. I was so happy when I found this wall on the side of a bank. While I realize there is still snow outside, I had to bust out some spring pastels. I am so over winter. I found my peach blouse on clearance for $7 at Walmart. I bought my mint leggings there as well last season. My clutch is actually a make up bag. I always like metallics with pastels so I added my gold Guess shoes to complete my look. Tuesday's OOTW - Not So Mellow Yellow

Well our snow has returned. We have had three inches in the past few days. This is nothing out of the ordinary since we can get snow here up until the end of May. It is still frustrating when you want to do photo shoots. These photos were taken shortly after Christmas, so you can see a wee bit of our Christmas decorations. I’m pretty organized and like to do things way ahead of time. 

I was looking forward to finally styling this great yellow pencil skirt I found at Target back when they were in Canada. I still miss them. I thought it would be fun to add a plaid shirt and some funky pearls and a cute pair of velvet wine pumps. And of course my awesome Coach sunglasses because it was super bright outside and I didn’t feel like putting on eye make up. #reallife
