What's Your Personal Style?
There are basically only five main personal styles: Classic, Chic, Whimsical, Bohemian, Avant-garde, and combinations of each ie. Classic/Chic. I kind of thought I’d be Classic, but then I took a quiz in a book by Jesse Garza and Joe Lupo titled Nothing To Wear? A 5-Step Cure For The Common Closet. I was shocked to find that I’m actually Whimsical/Chic, so I had to take the quiz again on a different day and I was the same thing!
Here is the eight question quiz here to help you to figure out what you are so that shopping will get a bit easier. Plus it’s kind of fun – at least I thought so! So grab a pen and be prepared to learn more about your personal style.

Friday's Faux Paw
You can put the nicest outfit on, do your hair and make-up properly, but if you don’t have the inside right then the outside package doesn’t matter. By insides I mean being confident in who you are, forgiving others (and yourself), letting go of negative thoughts, treating others as you wish to be treated, participating in a cause greater than yourself, and being kind to animals – especially Boston Terriers. This is nothing new. You’ve heard it all before so I’m probably sounding like Charlie Brown’s teacher, “Woh, woh, woh, wo-woh wo woh, woh, woh.” But do it anyway. You’ll figure out very quickly that it does make a world of difference in how you’re seen in the world. If you don’t, then you are as the Canadian rock group Trooper used to sing, “a three dressed up as a nine you’re only wasting my time.” So I’m giving you a three poo rating until you comply. Yeah this Faux Paw worked out differently than others, didn’t it?

Friday's Faux Paw
Spring is still far away for us on the Canadian prairies, but I’d like to address a lesser faux paw which I’m sure will occur once all of the snow melts. I’m speaking of wearing socks with sandals. Men mostly seem to be the perpetrators of this fashion crime. First off, this doesn’t even make sense. If your feet are cold enough to wear socks, there is this wonderful invention called shoes which you could wear instead. Sandals were created to keep your feet cool, so why would you need to wear socks? Plus, wearing socks with sandals is not practical. If you ever step in a puddle while wearing them it’s an experience you’ll never forget I’m sure. And I’m not even going to elaborate on how stupid you look.

Friday's Faux Paw
Today there is no yummy meat smell at our house. Apparently something called “Lent” is happening and on Fridays you can’t eat meat. I have absolutely no clue what this is about, but I miss smelling meat and especially eating a tidbit or two if offered.
The topic today is about hair colour. I am not against it, rather I am wholeheartedly for it. If you weren’t born a blonde but truly believe you look better as one (and actually do) then get thee to thy nearest salon or thy bathroom and colour away!
The problem I have is that for some of you, it’s way too long between colourings and you’ve got one inch or longer roots going on. Now some think that’s perfectly fine, and roots look sexy or rockstar somehow. I think it looks sloppy – especially if your roots are over two shades lighter or darker than your dyed hair and/or you have excessive grey. I give this rating a 2 poo because it truly does bother me.

For The Men!
This is a sponsored post.
I know I spend a lot of time talking about women topics because… well… I am a woman! I have neglected our men followers as of late so I will try to remember to talk about men’s style more often. So, here goes!
My husband likes to go to the spa and prepare for himself this DIY Beard Balm recipe. There, I’ve said it and there’s no turning back now (unless he reads this and tells me that I’m embarrassing him and I delete this entry but I hope that doesn’t happen). I think that in today’s day and age there is absolutely nothing wrong with men looking after themselves and practicing great grooming habits. After all why should women only be the ones to fuss and fret over looking their best only to go on a date with a guy who looks like K-Fed on a bad day?
Someone once said, “Women come out of the bathroom in the morning totally transformed. Men come of the bathroom in the morning smelling better.” Men, if showering and shaving are the only thing you are doing to get ready for the day ahead, have I got some suggestions for you!
1. Ditch the Uni-brow
Invest in some good tweezers (Tweezerman slant ones are my favourite) and pluck those stray hairs between your brows. If you have exceptionally bushy brows that almost cover your eyelid, then go to a salon and get your eyebrows shaped with a good waxing.
2. Ditch the Nose Hairs
If women are watching an octopus’ tentacles move in and out of your nostrils when you breathe, then trim your nose hairs. Trimmers are very inexpensive and can be found anywhere. this goes for ear hair too.
3. Ditch the Grey
We colour our hair, so why don’t you try it if you are pre-maturely greying? Pre-mature greying is when you’re getting a lot of grey hair in your 20s and 30s. And don’t go with Just For Men as it is crap that comes off on everything. Women’s hair colour is far more superior in every way. If you feel weird about buying a box with a woman on it, pretend it’s for your girlfriend/wife. Or get it done at a salon.
4. Ditch Soap and Water For Your Face
Start a good skin care regime which doesn’t involve using soap on your face. Soap dries out skin and clogs pores. Buy a dedicated face cleaner for your skin type. Also exfoliate your skin once a week either by using a gritty scrub or a chemical exfoliant like Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA). Kate Somerville brand products are good for everything ranging from moisturizing and resurfacing, to treating acne. And everyday of the year, wear a sunscreen of 15 SPF or more. You don’t want your woman to look old and neither do we want you to!
5. Ditch the TV
Start exercising! You have it way easier than a woman to gain muscle and lose weight being that we are fat storers thanks to our ability to have a baby. You don’t want a fat girlfriend/wife and we don’t want a fat guy. We like to be able to brag to our girlfriends how attractive our man is.
6. Ditch the T-Shirts (at least once in a while)
There was a photo on facebook circulating recently that said, “A well-tailored suit is to women what lingerie is to men.” Although this is cute, it is also true. I’m not saying that you have to wear a suit to go grocery shopping with your gal, but at least put some effort into your appearance. Wear nice jeans or khakis and a button down shirt or golf shirt. Wear some nice shoes, not the beat up runners you use to mow the lawn. Trust me, your effort will pay off in ways I cannot discuss here. *wink*
Now guys, I know not to give you more ideas because quite frankly I think this may be more than enough for you to process if you never tried any of these things. But try them and you’ll see that not only you’ll feel better about yourself, but maybe you will find that certain special someone or keep that special someone interested. Hope this helped out!

Another giveaway? Don't mind if I do.
First off a HUGE apology to the past two giveaway winners. I still haven’t mailed out your prizes due to the fact that I have been extremely sick for close to two months now. It’s been one virus or bacterial infection after another which has made me a homebody. My bus driver husband brings me home many bugs off his bus. I swear buses are like incubators for viruses and the like. I hope to get both packages in the mail by next week.
I love peacocks, so I thought I should have a peacock giveaway. What better way to add some whimsy and colour to your spring outfit than to add these cute peacock earrings?
Whoever wins the peacock earrings will also get another item which will also be perfect for adding colour to your outfit, this necklace:

Tuesday's OOTW - Leopard
I looked outside today and this is what I saw:
You may not be able to tell but it is snowing in this shot. Then about an hour later it was snowing way worse! Spring seems to be quite a ways off. This crappy weather makes it very difficult for me to shoot my Tuesday’s Outfit Of The Week posts. So for the next several posts, I will be grabbing outfits from other posts that I feel are good enough for my outfit of the week.
Back on September 3rd, I wrote a post called Purrfection – Feline Fall Fashion. It was to showcase cat fashion for – you guessed it – fall. This is one of the outfits I wore and still can be worn during the winter months with a coat and tights of course. (And some winter boots until you get to your destination. *sigh*)
