Tuesday's OOTW - Falling In Love

Fall is my favourite time of year. The leaves are gorgeous, the air is crisp, and I can wear all the hats and boots and sweaters and scarves AND…. Okay gotta control myself here. Deep breath. 

Okay as I was saying I really love fall so much I got married in the fall and years later had my daughter baptized in the fall on our wedding anniversary. I love fall colours so much I thought I should wear them proudly and rock out a “Hey you! Yes you!! Fall, how you doin’?!?” look. Yes that is what this is. And also an opportunity to show off my new awesome scalloped white booties which I have wanted for a very long time. I thought it would be tough to style white boots, but I’ve found that they look great with basically everything. I chose a dark floral dress because I like the contrast and also because it has some white running through it. If you’re more conservative and not print addicted like me, they also go well with jeans and a chunky knit sweater. Since school starts in fall, I buy my daughter the best girls school trousers in fall colors.

Tuesday's OOTW - Bootielicious

The first time I saw these blush, velvet, lace-up booties I knew they had to be a part of my shoe collection. I snagged them off of JustFab and on a great sale to boot! 😉 If you don’t have a JustFab account, then I have linked three other options if these are a must have for you as well. And this fall is all about camo. The great news is that if you’re not a fan of the usual green blend camo, there are lots of options with other colours blended into the camo including this cute camo cardigan with some pink mixed in. So literally anyone can grab some camo this fall! 

Many people think they can’t pull of a hat. Well I say you just haven’t found the right yet! I’m lucky because I can pull of pretty much any hat – at least that’s what they tell me. If you are unsure of what hat is right for you, try on all the hats! I believe a simple black fedora looks great on anyone. In this look I brought out my floppy hat to give a more laid back feeling to my look, then added a pink tank top, one of my handmade brass chevron necklaces, and my favourite black pants.

Tuesday's OOTW - Where Am I?

The title of this post actually makes sense because I’m wearing my favourite camo vest. Camouflage makes one blend in so I know it’s hard to see me the the following photos. 😀 I love this vest so much because it has pockets, is lined with cozy fleece, and it fits just right. It’s not too bulky so you don’t look like The Michelin Man. Perfect for those chilly days. The best part is that I snagged it on a great sale that is still going strong. My pants are pretty old, but I’ve linked some similar ones. And I’m so happy I bought these boots. At first I thought I should take them back because I never wore them, but now I can’t quit wearing them. They are the perfect olive green, so comfy, and very affordable.

Tuesday's OOTW - We're Can-eh-dian!

Today is Halloween! We always dress up as a family and to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday this year we thought we would choose some Canadian costumes. These costumes are super easy so if you’re running around looking for something last minute, then look no further. Just throw on some faded jeans, a buffalo plaid shirt, a knit beanie, and whatever boots you have. A pair of suspenders don’t hurt as well as a toy ax. The cute moose is optional but pretty darn awesome! I have linked where we got some of our stuff to help you out.

Tuesday's OOTW - Girl Boss

I love this look so much that I’m posing like a boss. Like a boss? Nah. I am the boss. At least in my own mind. Here’s to all the women out there who are getting s**t done. Whether you are a mama, working at home, working out of the home, working on your fitness, or a combination of all of these things, let’s all give each other a pat on the back. Go us!!

I finally got a great deal on my wine moto jacket from Old Navy. I waited so long for it to go on sale and now it is! As for my jeans, I took $5 thrifted jeans and did the fringed hem myself. If you don’t want to go that route, (it took me two hours) I linked a similar pair that is fringetastic. And my pink quilted cap toe shoes are under $40! I am really crushing on pairing pink with wine these days. I’ve included links to my whole outfit below.

Tuesday's OOTW - Pumpkin Spice Is Life!

Like pretty much everyone else, I love pumpkin spice lattes. Up until recently I have had two problems:

1. I do not like Starbucks coffee. It tastes burnt to me.
2.  I do not like paying $5+ for a coffee. WTH?!? It’s not made of gold.

So I went to Tim Hortons and got a decaf coffee (I’m allergic to caffeine) and added cream, sugar, and a pumpkin spice flavour shot. I was quite happy with it even though it’s not considered a latte. An no this post is not sponsored by Tim Hortons. I just really like Tim Hortons coffee.

So with my somewhat PSL in hand, I thought it was a great time to take some shots of my outfit while on vacation in sunny Comox, British Columbia. I got the shirt at a clearance rack at Winners last year so I’ll link a similar shirt with the same message. And if you don’t own these shoes, get yourself a pair. They are stylish, so darn comfortable, and on sale! And as for the jeans, I pretty much live in them. They are a mid-waist so they sit on the perfect spot on the body for those of us who don’t have perfectly flat tummies.

Tuesday's OOTW - Digging My Trench

The air is crisp, super windy and cold in my little part of the world. So glad I could get these lovely shots done before all the leaves blew off the trees. I live for bright colours and patterns, but there is something beautiful in simplicity. So I thought a basic outfit of a sweet two-tone trench, black hat, faux leather leggings, and one of my favourite pairs of boots would do nicely. I know my Phillip Lim For Target bag is outdated but if I love something I wear it. I have a really tough time letting go of clothes and accessories just because they are out of style. Seems kinda wasteful. I do update my wardrobe often and give away a lot of clothes, but the only reason I give away an item is because I no longer love it or it doesn’t fit me. Writing this just reminded me that I really need to go through my closet again and get rid of things ASAP. I do this at least twice a year.

Tuesday's OOTW - Breaking The Rules

The whole “don’t wear white after Labour Day” thing is so over. Personally, a pair of white jeans is a great piece to jazz up a fall outfit. Because I live where there is snow close to eight months of the year, I rarely get to wear open-toed booties. This fall happens to have gorgeous weather so here are my only pair of open-toed booties! And I love plaid and green so this shirt was a perfect addition to my wardrobe. These photos were shot while wandering the stunning University of Saskatchewan campus in Canada. Tuesday's OOTW - All You Need Is Love...

…and this cute sweatshirt of course! I honestly haven’t had so many compliments on this LOVE-ly sweatshirt since my green coat. And it’s such a great price – under $25 and 50% off that until midnight tonight. Just sayin’…

Now for the rest of look. I love layering because it gets ultra chilly here in my neck of the woods really quickly. So I snuck a plaid shirt underneath said sweatshirt. So if I get too hot, off comes the sweatshirt and I still look somewhat pulled together. And I’m always about the hat. I got this cute buffalo print one many years ago before the whole buffalo print rage and for $5! I wasn’t sure how to style it so I thought I had given it away. I was overjoyed I didn’t! The plaid has the same red running through it as does the sweatshirt so it ties everything together. You don’t have to be too matchy-matchy these days which I am often guilty of. So let the prints mix I say! And for extra kicks 🙂 I threw on my camo shoes from Old Navy. I got them in the boy’s section because there are no rules. See? Adulting can be fun sometimes.
