Blemish Free? I Think So!!!
I am a homemaker but in my spare time, (which there is not a lot of these days) I write, sing, and model. One night before a photo shoot, I got a wonderful huge pimple by my nose. I read somewhere that if you put a blemish cream containing benzoyl peroxide the offender and let it sink in, then put a dot of clay mask on top and go to bed, the pimple should be gone in the morning. Even though I was super skeptical about this, I gave it a try and went to bed.
The result? MIND BLOWING!! It was gone! I never thought that would happen being it was a major underground pimple. So I knew at that moment I had to blog about it and let everyone know that this really worked.
You can use any blemish cream with 2 – 2.5% benzoyl peroxide in it and any type of clay mask. The products I used were both by Paula Begoun and you can buy them online at her website: http://www.paulaschoice.com – CLEAR Regular Strength Acne Fighting Treatment and Skin Balancing Carbon Mask.
I hope this works for you as well as it did for me!

Tuesday's OOTW - The #Yeggies!
Yes I should’ve had this posted last Tuesday, but as blogging isn’t my full-time job and last week was hectic, today will have to do.
Our blog had the pleasure of being nominated for Best In Style & Fashion at the Yeggies which took place on Friday May 9th. “Yeg” is the abbreviation for Edmonton which is the city I live in. The Yeggies “is an awards show designed to highlight some of the amazing talent we have here in Edmonton — from people who code websites themselves, to those who write, speak, draw, all on their own time. Yeggies recipients inspire, evoke, inform, educate and entertain us, and they do it because they have a passion for it.” (Taken from the Yeggie website.) So a Yeggie is a social media type of award.
Unfortunately we didn’t win, but I went to the awards show on behalf of Zeke. Even though I tried to convince the organizers of the show that my co-blogger would be on his best behavior and is already wearing a tux, they wouldn’t bend the rule of “no dogs allowed.” Also I got sooooooo many compliments on my outfit. Maybe it was because I was the only one wearing a jumpsuit? This surprised me as jumpsuits are a great alternative to pants, skirts, or dresses. They are everywhere this spring so why not try one yourself?
I wanted to look great and create a peacock inspired eye so I broke out my never used Stila Daydream Eye Shadow Palette.
Image taken from Midnight Violets blog. Can also find swatches and review there as well.
I headed over to Pinterest and used the following photo as inspiration to create my peacock eye:
I’m bummed out that I didn’t take close-up photo of how it turned out, because it looked great! This photo will have to do:
Another thing I am bummed out about is that I totally forgot to take a full-length shot of my outfit. So I threw my outfit on today and got some shots of it. They will all be headless as I’m too lazy not willing to do my hair and make-up again.
Earrings $4 Ardene (similar) // Jumpsuit $20 Suzy Shier (similar) // Cuff $9 eBay // Purse $25 eBay // Shoes $30 Army & Navy (in stores now)
And now for some shots from The Yeggies:

No More Dry, Frizzy, Crazy Hair!
Yes, I must admit I have fallen prey to the Pinterest machine (click here for my account). There are so many useful things that I have spent way too much time pinning when I should be doing something else like a blog entry cleaning the house. I have started a board called Pinspiration to show the pins that have inspired me to try something. I also write about my experience and what to change or avoid on each pin I pin to Pinspiration. And that bring us to today’s blog entry.
The pin in question was taken from the How Does She? blog – you can find the article the pin is based on here. Anyhow, the pin was about using coconut oil on your hair as a conditioner. I didn’t have my computer in front of me a few days ago when I decided to take a leisurely bath so I did my own thing instead of following the instructions. I left the coconut oil on for about 20 minutes and didn’t apply heat. I applied it to most of my hair but kept it far away from the roots. Then I tied my hair up with an elastic and had my bath enjoying the wonderful coconut smell. I washed my hair once with shampoo then applied my Aussie conditioner which also has a coconut smell. It totally works!! My once dry and frizzy hair now feels soft and looks and smells beautiful! I loved it so much I did it again two days later.
In conclusion, this is a wonderful addition to any gal’s beauty arsenal. Give it a try! You won’t be disappointed.
