Stamp your stilettos to make the sound of a drum roll please!

I have designed our own blog website for Clothes But Not Quite!!!

It still needs a bit of work such as a better banner, cute purse social media icons, and some other graphics which will be all designed by my husband (Isn't it great having a graphic designer for a husband?). Despite all of that we decided to announce it now. Why you may ask? (It's okay you can ask us.) It's because we want to start posting at our new site so we don't have to keep moving Blogger posts there once we complete them. Ain't nobody got time for that! We sure don't.

So please drop by our new website as this is our last post here on Blogger. Visit www.clothesbutnotquite.com and give us some love for there are exciting things coming very soon.

Thanks for all of your support!

Friday's Faux Paw

First off, I'd like to thank everyone who has sent me well wishes. I am feeling a lot better now.

Today's faux paw is about wearing the correct bra. I saw a woman the other day who looked like she had a set of boobs on her back because her bra was way too tight and riding up causing back fat to ooze out underneath. Not an attractive look!

Here are tips to make sure you get the correct bra for your size:

  1. Get a tape measure and put on the best bra that you have.
  2. Measure your band size by putting the tape measure around the bottom of the bra. Write it down in inches.
  3. Meaure your bust size by putting the tape around your breasts at the fullest point, which typically is where your nipples are. Write it down in inches.
  4. Figure out the cup size by subtracting the band size from the bust size.If your bust size is less than 1 inch bigger than your band size, you’re a cup size AA, 1-inch difference = A, 2-inch difference = B,3-inch difference = C, 4-inch difference = D, 5-inch difference = DD.

Now go out and get the right bra. Or if you're having difficulties, go and see a professional bra fitter. Otherwise I give this rating:

Trend Alert! Boston Terriers

As you know my co-blogger is a Boston Terrier named Zeke. I also have another one named Cooper. I was overjoyed when I saw that Boston Terriers have now invaded the fashon scene for fall. I have already bought the tank from H&M and am looking for the others. Would you wear anything with a Boston on it? If so what?

Peachy Keen

This dress is super girly and that's why I love it. Even though it's such a pretty peach colour, I decided to add a pop of colour with a turquoise belt and earrings. A stack of animal print bracelets and some peep toed pumps to show off my new manicure (Essie's hip-anema, I love you!) and I'm off to enjoy the nice weather while it lasts.

Dress H & M $15 (in stores) // Belt Reitmans $3 (in stores) // Earrings i heart accessories (ebay similar) // Bracelets ebay $8 (I won mine on an auction for $3!) // Shoes Spring $20 (similar)

My Favourite Lipstick Of All Time

I recently joined ifb (Independent Fashion Bloggers) and I've been loving it. If you are an independent fashion blogger and love great articles to help you blog better and a wonderfully supportive community, then sign up here

As some may know, I am a lipstick addict. I have so many colours that they threaten to take over the entire bathroom. So when I saw that ifb asked bloggers to share the lipstick they most adore, I had to participate. You can check out their request for best lipstick here.

So without more rambling here is my confession of lipstick love. I am madly in love with L'Oreal's Colour Caresse Shine Stain. Why you may ask? Well to start off the colours are beautiful. There are twelve colours including mauves, pinks, nudes, one red and one coral shade.

Being that I am a red head, I bought Coral Tattoo and it's awesome! What's really wonderful is that you can put just a bit on for a peachy/orange look or add another layer and get a bold pop of orange/red goodness. I go for the bold 'cause I feel life's too short for wussy lip colour. I loved it so much in fact that I went back and got Eternally Caramel which is a gorgeous nude brown with flecks of gold in it (I also got another Coral Tattoo as they were on sale). And this lipstick makes your lips super glossy too without the stickiness that other glosses have.

Now for the best part - if those other things didn't make you want to get in your car, go to the store, grab this lipstick yelling as you approach the check-out, "Shut-up and take my money!!" this will. It has amazing staying power. Most glosses need to be re-applied every half-hour but this product won't do you like that. Eventually the gloss fades, but the pigment actually stains your lips so you can enjoy the colour for a lot longer.

An added bonus is that I have read reviews claiming that this lipstick is very similar to YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain (One of the reviews is located here). I have not personally tried YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain due to the $32 price tag. I got my L'Oreal Colour Caresse Shine Stain for $6.99 so that's just another reason why I love it!

Now I just need to sit back and wait for L'Oreal to discover this article, send me money, and make me their official spokesmodel. I doubt this will ever happen, but if it does, my lips are ready for their close-up.

Clothes But Not Quite
Colours left to right, top to bottom: Pink Resistance, Lilac Ever After, Berry Persistent, Endless Red, Pink Rebellion, Eternally Nude, Pink Perseverance, Everlasting Caramel, Rose On And On, Infinite Fuchsia, Stubborn Plum, Coral Tattoo

Zeke Needs Your Love!

Last night as I was saying "goodnight" to Zeke, he couldn't get off my bed to go to his kennel condo. He yelped in pain and couldn't even stand up! So I snuggled with him and was awake all night because he keep crying in pain. His back legs were seized right up and he couldn't quit shaking. Poor guy! Tim and our room mate took him to the vet this morning. His regular doctor was away at a dog show so he had to see someone else. She gave him a 24 hour pain killer shot and we give Zeke more medicine tomorrow. He will see his regular doctor on Monday. He seems to be doing better after having a good nap and is currently chewing his bone.

In the meantime, please send your love, prayers, and good thoughts his way. Hope we can figure out what's wrong. Have a good weekend!

Friday's Faux Paw

We had a question the other day asking if it was okay to wear skinny jeans if you're on the short side. While there is nothing wrong with wearing skinny jeans if you're petite, it definitely doesn't look good when people with larger hips wear them. Because skinny jeans taper at the ankle, they make the hips look bigger. If you already have large hips, they will be made way larger by wearing this style of jeans so those skinny jeans won't be making you look skinny! And what woman wants their hips to look larger anyway? None that I know! For the larger hipped beauties, go for boot-cut jeans or even jeans with a bit of a flared cut. They will balance your body making your hips look smaller.

Love It Or Leaf It! Why Not Both?

I have always loved leaves. I also love autumn too. Could the reason be because I was born on a chilly autumn day? Well whatever the reason here are my current favourite leafy items.

Do you find any of these leafy items interesting? I like all of them but am partial to the dress and shorts from Old Navy and the shoes from Suzy Shier.
